We Believe that all teens have “PROMISE”

NOT ALL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP THAT PROMISE.

This is why “Teens with Promise” exists.  We help “even the playing field” for teens lacking the support, services, funding, and appropriate clothing and supplies they need to flourish during their all-important teen years.

Studies show that teens who have the means to succeed in school classes and participate in sports, clubs and social activities tend to have lower obesity rates, higher graduation rates, fewer unwanted pregnancies, better self-esteem, reduced attraction to substance abuse, and increased life satisfaction.  Wrap that all together and these teens are much more likely to become successful and valuable members of society.

Teens with Promise PROVIDES:
     *
Popular teen school clothing
*Teen appropriate backpacks and school supplies
     *Medical and Dental services
*Athletic fees and sports team apparel
*Apparel for Homecoming and Prom events
*Educational Advocates to help with school

               Grand Re-Opening

First opened in August 2011, Promises Thrift Store, a chic inspired second hand boutique, is now moving just a few doors down to a more spacious location. We “Promise” to have an even larger boutique area and providing quality items at thrift store prices.  Funds raised from the thrift store will be used to support the Teens with Promise program which provides free clothing, and school supplies to disadvantaged and homeless youth.

Located near the Academy and Austin Bluffs intersection, this specialty thrift store is guaranteed to have brand name clothes, designer handbags and accessories for a fraction of the price. With a larger location we are able to not only keep a fantastic selection for women and men, but also provide gently used sporting goods and furniture.

Come out and support a great cause.

High School
 Graduation Rate

The high school graduation rate for El Paso County is  only 80%.  Boys graduate at a rate of 77% ; girls graduate at a rate of 83%.   This under-achievement creates a cycle of poverty and dependency.   High school dropouts have lower earnings, experience. more unemployment and are more likely to end up on welfare and in prison then their peers who completed high school.
